Devin Cruzin and Boards
Aloha,
I know it been awhile since the last post. But like they say its better late than never.
Here the latest scoops....Devin got to surf and chill with some cool brada's from RVCA. He also recently got picked up by RVCA. It's safe to say that Devin is super stoked. Much Mahalo's to RVCA for hooking Devin up.
Devin just picked up two more shred sticks from Dennis Pang Surfboards. Then he laced them up with all his sponsors stickers. Now the boards are ready for action. Mahalo Dennis!!
Well that is for now. I hope you and your families have a great holiday season!!!

End of a surf season and a start of another
Wow is all I can say about the last two months. Devin competed in the NSSA nationals at lowers and Surfing America at Huntington. First was lowers...Lowers was all time. It was about 3 to 4 feet the whole time we at lowers. During Devins heat of the 11 and under, the waves weren't showing as it was earlier. Devin surfed really well but he ended up just missing the next round by a .02. So our time at lowers came to an end and it was time to move on to Huntington to practice.
Devin had two NSSA divisions (Mini grom and super grom) to compete in. In the mini grom the same thing happen again, he need a .3 to advance. But in the super grom he advanced to the quarter finals and just missing the semi's in fourth. And with that our national run came to an end.
Overall it was a great experience for Devin. But he did surf really well and now he knows what to expect when it comes to national level surfing next year.
We want to thank Aerial7, Ransom, and FCS for hooking Devin up. Aerial7 mahalo letting us hang out and hooking the kids up with some sick headphones. Also Ransom once again for letting the Cru from Hawaii come through. FCS for hooking devin up with some new FCS fins.
A Huge Mahalo goes out to the Blanco's for putting up with the brue cru for three weeks. Can't thank you guys enough.

HSA State Championships
Aloha,
If you didn't know Devin and Nicole surfed in the HSA State Championships at Ala Moana Bowls this past week. The conditions at Bowls couldn't have been any better... 2 -3 feet with occasional 4 footer rolling through.

Nicole surfed in the Girls 12-13 division. She surfed in one of the first heats of the day. The waves wasn't in perfect form yet, but there was some good ones to be had. Nicole surfed really well in her heat and was able to advance to the semi final. In the semi's, she was once again surfing really well but didn't get that one wave she needed to advance to the finals. Over all she was stoke with her finish. But she said it would have been better to advance to finals. That's ok... you did great and especially when your having fun out there!!

| Nicole on one of her waves. |
Devin surfed in the Menehune shortboard division which is the 11 and under. He advanced through four rounds and won a couple of heats in the process before the semi final. In semi final Devin ended up posting his highest score of the event, a 9.5! He was stoke with his score, but he was even happier with the announcement that he had won the semi. Then it was time for the final. The final was stacked with the best surfers from a cross the state and some great waves to be surfed. So the stage was set. All the kids surfed really well and it was just a matter of who was going to get the best wave. Devin had some great medium size waves but not the one he needed in the end. He just missed a solid four foot wave that could have possibly been a very high scoring wave. So he settle for the next wave that didn't open up for him in the closing seconds. After surfing four rounds and a semi final, Devin ended up placing "3rd" in the HSA State Championships final!!!

We are super stoked for Nicole and Devin and their accomplishments this season.

Surf....
Wow... it been awhile since I posted anything about anything. I guess we have been busy lately or it seems that way.
Heres the latest....surfing, soccer, and everything in between.
Surfing: getting ready for HSA states and NSSA Nationals. We have been Ewa a lot lately and of course kewalos on the weekends. Come to find out Devin did not make it to the VQS championships. They ended up taking only the first finisher instead of the top three. Wish we would have known that from the beginning.

Soccer: Nicole is playing again. So that means our weekends just got a lot more busier. It's ok, we really enjoy watching her play soccer and we support our kids in what ever they do.
Everything in between: working on house, cars and the honey do list. Don't need to say more. Hahaha
Well that's it for now. Till next time Aloha!!!

Devin's Aerial7 gear
Wow is all I can say about Devin's new stuff from Aerial7. These headphones are off the hook. They sound great, very comfortable, and look sick. Go and get your pair at Blue Hawaii surf as soon as possible. Or go to aerial7 website by clicking on it's link to check out more cool designs and styles that you might like.
I need to get me a set of those!!!

Surf Week Update
All I can say this crazy week has come to an end and now I can finally rest.
It all started early morning Wednesday with us working on the Hawaii 5-0 set as extras. It was a great experience to be apart of it, but I would not do it again.
Then we jump right into the Hawaii NSSA Regionals Championships on Thursday thru Saturday. It was a great event held at Kewalos in 2-3 foot surf. Devin boy had a great showing by advancing to three out four division finals.
Open Mini Grom............3rd
Explorer Super Grom....2nd
Explorer Menehune.......6th
In the fourth division the open boys he advanced to the Repo and place 5th.

Then on Sunday we finished up the other half of HSA at Makaha. It was a solid 3-4 feet with some off shore winds. So it can be said the kids scored a great surf session at Makaha. Devin made the finals once again and place 3rd.
The week prior HSA, Nicole surfed in her girls 17 and under division and advanced to repo round. Though she didn't make it to the finals, she was surfing really good.
Well thats the update from a crazy week. Now it's time for me to get some sleep.
Yah right!!!

Not HauBush
Surfing at our other spot today. Not big but good enough for the kids. We like to call it family time or just brother and sister having fun together. Either way they are getting water time for the contest at Makaha this weekend. Hopefully we are blessed with waves for it.
Well let me get back to watching the kids surf.

Freestyle Watches
Devin just received another set of great freestyle watches the other day. I tell you what when a box comes in with his name on it he's all smiles. After opening the box he was stoke to find a gromtide and shark watch that he likes to wear while surfing or just cruzing around.
If you haven't got your new 2011 freestyle watch, what are you waiting for. This years line of watches is sick as always. As you can see in the 2011 catalog in the picture. Go to my links and check out the freestyle site to find your watch.
I hope you find your watch. Till next time.
Aloooha.

Hump Day Surfing
Aloha...
Here we are on the north shore of Oahu for a late surf session at Ehukai. Of course the kids are out while I have the camera duties once again. I can't complain to much because I enjoy watching them surf. Or at least I think so. Hahaha
From the looks of things the HSA turtle bay contest will be canceled once again for the second week in a row. Oh well I guess we get to free surf all weekend instead or clean the house. What to do.
That's it for now....peace.

Working on the surfboards
Working on Devin surfboards. Removing old deck pads and adding the Ransom deck pad and decals. The ruff part is taking off the old adhesive without any solvents. Help!!! Hahaha. The boards are looking sick!!!
Ransom Cru Member
Congrats to Devin boy who is now part of the Ransom team.
If you don't know what Ramson is, they are a sick surf wax manufacture. Its by far my favorite wax to use on my board for awhile now. They also carry other products (deck pad, leashes, day board bags for 5'0 and up) that you can see in Devins picture. We have been doing this surf thing for awhile now and Ransom has board bags and other items that is actually made with the grom in mind.
So check out the Ransom website in my links to find out more about them.
A big MAHALO goes out to the Ransom Cru.
Congratulations Devin Boy!!!!
